OPPORTUNITY

The Castle Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Event Director or Event Director to join our smart, creative and passionate team of event professionals. This seasoned manager is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution of complex events, while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a leader to internal project teams.

Our Assistant Event Directors/Event Directors oversee events from concept through execution, ensuring programs are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Projects include corporate conferences, sales kickoffs and user group meetings, incentive programs, employee recognition programs, themed events, galas, fundraisers, and virtual experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior agency representative providing strategic counsel, oversight, and execution for client event programs.
  • Lead overall event strategy, planning, and execution for client events, ensuring alignment with client goals, success metrics, and key messages.
  • Develop program goals, create and manage budgets, negotiate contracts, develop timelines and communication plans.
  • Supervise project teams, providing leadership, direction, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Plan and implement event design elements including space planning, floor plans, event flow, décor, entertainment, staging, and audiovisual requirements.
  • Support event production, including run-of-show development, stage management, and on-site execution.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to ensure successful, high-quality event delivery.
  • Measure and evaluate program success, including ROI analysis and post-event reporting.
  • Maintain proactive client communication to ensure satisfaction and long-term relationship building.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, client industries, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in event planning, communications, business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in event strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with online registration systems and virtual event platforms.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving event formats.
  • High energy, strong attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel and work nights and weekends as required.

The salary range for this role is $95,000–$115,000, with compensation determined based on role level (Assistant Event Director vs. Event Director), experience, and qualifications. Please apply only if your compensation expectations align with this range.
