“A Taste of Charlestown” - Vitale, Caturano & Company

An opportunity to both christen a beautiful new building and expanded, state-of-the-art office space, and to extend roots into a community steeped in history and pride, bringing that community together in support of a worthwhile cause, is rare in today’s corporate environment. Vitale, Caturano & Company (VCC), a CPA, business advisory and technology consulting firm, did just that, significantly improving its professional space while hosting an event that embraced its new community, thanked loyal partners and customers, and raised funds for a local non-profit icon. Vitale has a strong regional client base, and is an active participant in the dialogue about the region’s business issues. The company enlisted The Castle Group to make sure its event was memorable, paid respect to the community’s heritage, and embedded the firm’s business messages in the minds of attendees.

To celebrate its relocation into the revitalized and historic Charlestown, Mass. business community, an area growing in appeal due to its proximity to Boston and improvements resulting from the region’s “Big Dig,” VCC hosted a major fundraising and grand opening event to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. More than $50,000 was raised during the event from attendee donations and a silent auction, with the money earmarked for a major renovation project of the Club’s flagship facility in Charlestown.

The event itself included fine cuisine donated by celebrity chef Todd English, who was also on hand for a book signing. Renowned artist John Raimondi was also in attendance as VCC’s new art gallery was named in his honor. Local groups, including Charlestown’s Bunker Hillbillies—originally formed decades ago by members of the Boys & Girls Club—and the choral group of the Charlestown Club provided entertainment to the crowd of 600.

Beyond managing all aspects of the event, Castle provided public relations support, using the event as an opportunity to secure business profiles for Vitale, and to raise the profile of the charitable endeavor.
